Research Project

Next Generation AI and PQC Cybersecurity: Deployment and International Collaboration

Abstract

In response to increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity threats and the advent of the quantum era, this integrated project centers on the deployment and international advancement of next-generation cybersecurity technologies. Building upon the forward-looking research achievements of Phase I in AI-native security and post-quantum cryptography (PQC), the project moves toward real-world implementation and global collaboration. The six sub-projects each target distinct technical areas: Sub-project 1 explores privacy protection and adversarial defense mechanisms for AI models under federated learning; Sub-projects 2 and 3 focus on APT simulation, audit log generation, and real-time intrusion detection to enhance threat hunting capabilities; Sub-projects 4 and 5 leverage large language models and deep learning to develop detection and tracing mechanisms for multi-modal anomalies and deepfake content; Sub-project 6 continues the efforts from Phase I in PQC implementation and migration research, aligning with the standardization process led by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The project also includes plans for technology validation and demonstration, and has established ongoing partnerships with global institutions such as the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (Germany) and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT, Japan). Through advancing key technology deployment, cultivating cybersecurity talent, and deepening international collaboration, the project aims to enhance Taiwan’s cybersecurity autonomy and global influence, contributing to the development of a sustainable and trustworthy national cybersecurity infrastructure.
