The 2026 Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC) PI Meeting, a flagship cybersecurity research event organized by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), was successfully held on August 6–7 at the University of Maryland, College Park. As a cornerstone of NSF’s cybersecurity research agenda, SaTC PI Meeting brings together leading cybersecurity researchers, principal investigators, and experts from academia, government, and industry to address emerging global cybersecurity challenges. This year, the TACC team organized a delegation to attend the meeting, engaging directly with researchers and experts from across the cybersecurity community.

Keynotes and breakout sessions focused on a wide range of frontier topics, including trustworthy AI and intelligent security, PQC, and supply chain defense, while also exploring emerging areas such as space systems security, threat detection, and digital forensics. Discussions further covered cybersecurity in biomedical applications, research infrastructure, and cybersecurity workforce development. Insights from the meeting will serve as valuable references for TACC as it advances Taiwan’s cybersecurity research agenda and strategic technology development.

Beyond the conference program, the TACC delegation also visited the Maryland Cybersecurity Center at the University of Maryland to gain deeper insights into its research capabilities and current areas of development. The two sides exchanged views on research topics of mutual interest, laying the groundwork for potential future collaboration.
Looking ahead, TACC will continue to connect Taiwan with leading international research communities and foster a long-term, substantive Taiwan–U.S. cybersecurity research network. By aligning research priorities and identifying new opportunities for collaboration, TACC aims to deepen Taiwan’s integration with the global cybersecurity research ecosystem while strengthening the country’s research capabilities and international influence in critical areas of cybersecurity.
