TACC Welcomes Inria and the French Office in Taipei to Strengthen Taiwan–France Collaboration in AI and Cybersecurity

On July 2, the Taiwan Academic Cyber Security Center (TACC) welcomed a delegation from the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (Inria) and the French Office in Taipei for an in-depth exchange on artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and international research collaboration. Representatives from the AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) also joined the meeting to share Taiwan's latest initiatives in AI research, governance, and international cooperation.

During the meeting, TACC introduced the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC)-supported program that connects nine university-based cybersecurity research centers across Taiwan, highlighting its efforts to promote international collaboration, researcher mobility, and joint research initiatives. Inria presented the French research and innovation ecosystem, outlining its role in coordinating national research activities in digital science and technology. The delegation also introduced France's AI research landscape, including AI Clusters, Program Agencies, and AI Factory initiatives, as well as ongoing efforts in AI, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, digital sovereignty, and open-source software.

Both sides exchanged views on a range of emerging topics, including AI security, Agentic AI, AI governance, digital sovereignty, talent development, and research commercialization. Discussions also explored opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation through researcher exchanges, joint research projects, matchmaking activities, and future international collaboration programs.

The meeting enhanced mutual understanding of the research ecosystems and collaboration mechanisms in Taiwan and France, laying a solid foundation for deeper cooperation in AI and cybersecurity research.
