TACC Delegation Attends Cyber Week 2025 in Israel to Expand Taiwan–Israel Cybersecurity Collaboration

To strengthen international cybersecurity research collaboration and academic exchange, TACC Principal Investigator Prof. Wei-Chung Deng led a delegation to Tel Aviv, Israel, from December 7 to December 12, 2025. The team participated in the internationally renowned cybersecurity conference Cyber Week 2025 and visited several leading academic and industry institutions, including Tel Aviv University (TAU), Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), and cybersecurity companies Check Point and Security Jose, to promote Taiwan–Israel cooperation in cybersecurity research and innovation.

Dr. Yaniv Harel, Chief Cybersecurity Strategist at the Blavatnik Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center (ICRC) at Tel Aviv University, noted that Israel’s cybersecurity research ecosystem is characterized by diversified funding sources and strong industry–academia collaboration, which differs from Taiwan’s more top-down research structure. He suggested that future collaboration should focus on key technology development and sustainable funding mechanisms to build long-term and impactful partnerships.

The delegation also visited several cutting-edge research initiatives at Ben-Gurion University. Vice President Prof. Dan Blumberg expressed strong interest in promoting international collaboration and student exchange programs, emphasizing the importance of talent mobility in strengthening academic partnerships.

The visit not only enhanced connections between Taiwan and Israel’s cybersecurity research communities but also laid a solid foundation for future joint research initiatives, graduate-level exchanges, and broader international cooperation, demonstrating Taiwan’s commitment to expanding global cybersecurity partnerships and cultivating advanced cybersecurity talent.
