ACM CCS Premier Cybersecurity Conference Held in Taipei, Showcasing Taiwan’s Research Strength
One of the four leading international academic conferences in the field of cybersecurity, the ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (ACM CCS), was held in Taipei from October 13 to October 17, 2025. The conference was brought to Taiwan through the efforts of Professor Chun-Ying Huang of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, a collaborating scholar of the TACC. This achievement marks a significant milestone, as ACM CCS was held in Asia in a physical format for the first time in nearly 25 years, underscoring its historical importance.
The conference covered a wide range of critical research areas, including network and systems security, applied cryptography, privacy protection, machine learning security, and blockchain security. It attracted 1,031 scholars and experts from 59 countries, including 57 researchers from Taiwan, highlighting Taiwan’s active participation and growing influence within the global cybersecurity research community.
This year’s conference received 2,278 paper submissions, of which 316 papers were accepted, resulting in an overall acceptance rate of only 13.9%. The highly competitive selection process reflects the prestige and academic rigor of ACM CCS within the international research community.
Hosting ACM CCS in Taipei not only fostered international academic exchange in cybersecurity but also provided an opportunity for the global research community to gain deeper insight into Taiwan’s research capabilities and innovative achievements in cybersecurity. By bringing together leading scholars and research teams from around the world, the conference significantly enhanced Taiwan’s visibility in the global cybersecurity research landscape and laid an important foundation for future international collaborations and technological advancements.
