To deepen research collaboration and technology exchange between Taiwan and France in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, approximately 20 experts and scholars from Taiwan’s AI and cybersecurity communities visited France from October 12 to October 19. During the visit, they participated in the AI and Cybersecurity Workshop under the Taiwan–France Science and Technology Cooperation (STC) Dialogue, held in Paris, exploring emerging technological trends and opportunities for international collaboration.

The workshop was hosted by the Sorbonne Center for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) at Sorbonne University on October 15–16 in Paris. The event brought together researchers and experts from Taiwan and France to exchange insights on the latest developments and applications in AI and cybersecurity. Through keynote presentations and technical discussions, participants shared research achievements and explored potential areas for future collaboration, further strengthening bilateral cooperation in these critical technology domains.

The Taiwanese delegation included several scholars from the TACC. This visit marked the second Taiwan–France STC exchange, with discussions focusing on key cybersecurity topics such as malware detection and defense, cryptography and privacy-enhancing technologies, misinformation and disinformation, and AI security.

During the visit, the delegation also met with several leading French institutions, including the Bureau de Représentation de Taipei en France (BRTF), Campus Cyber, the Institute for Development and Resources in Intensive Scientific Computing (IDRIS), and the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Digital Sciences (LISN). These exchanges provided opportunities to learn about France’s latest developments in cybersecurity ecosystems and high-performance computing, while also exploring future collaboration in research, technology exchange, and talent development.

The Taiwan–France AI and cybersecurity exchange not only strengthened academic and research partnerships between the two countries but also expanded Taiwan’s international collaboration network in these critical technology fields, laying a solid foundation for future joint research and innovation.
