US-TW Cybersecurity Workshop 2025 Successfully Concluded, Strengthening Bilateral Collaboration
The second US-TW Workshop on Cybersecurity was successfully held from March 3-4, 2025, at the Virginia Tech Executive Briefing Center in Washington D.C. Co-organized by the Taiwan Academic Cyber Security Center (TACC) and the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the workshop facilitated substantial technical exchanges between cybersecurity experts and scholars from Taiwan and the United States, fostering impactful long-term collaborations. This marked the second iteration following the inaugural event in Taipei in 2024. Special appreciation is extended to Prof. Ning Zhang of Washington University in St. Louis and Prof. Wenjing Lou of Virginia Tech for their invaluable support.
The two-day program featured keynote speeches, lightning talks, speed meetings, and roundtables, encouraging participants to explore challenges and opportunities in global cyberspace. Key focus areas included resilient networks and trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically covering trustworthy AI, AI security, resilient networks, zero-trust systems, and post-quantum security.
Recognizing the rapid evolution of AI-driven cyberspace, the workshop promoted innovative approaches to ensure network resilience and AI trustworthiness. A dedicated panel discussion also addressed "Building Long-Term International Collaboration," advancing the establishment of a Trans-Pacific collaborative platform for securing increasingly computing-dependent global networks.
The workshop successfully concluded, laying a solid foundation for deepened US-Taiwan cybersecurity collaboration. Both sides will continue strengthening exchanges to jointly address evolving cyber threats and contribute to global cybersecurity efforts.
